Alameda

Cleanup at Crown Memorial State Beach
Saturday, September 19, 8:30AM-12:00PM 

Register at Park St. and Shoreline Dr., Alameda
Hosted by the City of Alameda in collaboration with the East Bay Regional Parks District. Bring a refillable water bottle, a bucket for trash, hat and gloves if you have. All volunteers should wear closed toed shoes, appropriate layered clothing and bring sunscreen. Snacks, water, disposable gloves (if needed) and trash bags will be provided.

Albany

Cleanup at the Albany Bulb
Saturday, September 19, 9:00AM-12:00PM
Meet at the Albany Bulb, next to Golden Gate Fields at the end of Buchanan Street

Hosted by the Watershed project. All cleanup supplies are provided – bag or bucket, gloves, data card, pencil, etc. However, the organizers encourage everyone to bring their own reusable bucket and/or gloves.

Berkeley

Berkeley Shoreline Cleanup
Saturday, September 19, 9:00AM-12:00PM

Meet at the Shorebird Nature Center

Hosted by the City of Berkeley. Clean up and tally litter at the Shoreline. Organizers will provide a map of the location, data cards, bags, gloves, and sharps containers. Please provide your own gloves and a reusable bucket, if you can. Organizers will help you team with two other people so data collection is easier.

Castro Valley/Unincorporated County

Creek Cleanup and "Creek Care" Walk
Saturday, September 19, 9:00AM-12:00PM

Meet at the Castro Valley trail next to the Castro Valley Library, 3600 Norbridge Ave.

This is an Unincorporated County Clean Water Program event.
Litter pick up along the creek side trail that extends from the library to Castro Valley Blvd., and around the library. Litter tallying and reporting results to CA Coastal Cleanup Day organizers. Wear work clothes and sturdy shoes (no sandals), long pants, and bring gloves and a reusable water bottle if you have them. We will provide gloves to lend, tools and a snack. Open to volunteers age 10 and up. Youth under 18 need parent signature.

Dublin

Creek Cleanup Day - 4 Locations
Saturday, September 12, 9:00AM-12:00PM - Note early date!
Four cleanup locations: Tassajara Creek (at Emerald Glen Park), Alamo Canal (by the Civic Center), Alamo Creek (by Alamo Creek Park), South San Ramon Creek (behind Dublin High School)

Meet at Emerald Glen Park. From there, volunteers go to their assigned creek.

Coastal Cleanup in Emeryville

Meet next to the Fire Station at 2333 Powell Street, across from the Watergate Market.

Hosted by the City of Emeryville. Clean up Emeryville’s coastline including Shorebird Park and Point Emery. Volunteers are treated to free refreshments, raffle prizes and more from local Emeryville businesses. Register on site.

Fremont

City-Wide Litter Cleanup - 9 Locations
Saturday, September 19, 9:00AM-12:00PM

Hosted by the City of Fremont. Even though Fremont does not have any coasts, the litter, trash and debris that gets into storm drains and local creeks. We’ll be picking up litter and other debris at creeks, parks and roadsides.

Creek to Bay Day - Multiple Locations

Oakland Creek to Bay Day projects include trash removal, invasive plant removal and planting native plants.
In addition to inviting citizens to existing cleanup sites, the City of Oakland encourages residents to lead their own project. San Leandro

San Leandro Shoreline Cleanup
Saturday, September 19, 8:30AM-12:00PM

Meet at one of two staging areas: the Monarch Bay Drive Bridge (at the end of Marina Park) and the Heron Bay entrance to the shoreline trail at the end of Lewelling Boulevard. Note: Heron Bay entrance does not have on-site parking and therefore is for drop-off only.

Trash bags, recycling bags, and gloves will be provided. Alameda County Industries will donate dumpsters for debris disposal. Drinking water also will be available, although participants are asked to bring their own water bottles to fill.

Union City

Civic Center Park Work Day
Sunday, September 20, 9:00AM-11:00AM – Note event is on Sunday, not Saturday.
Meet at Union City Civic Center: enter from Royal Ann Dr., meet near skate park. 

Hosted by the Alameda County Flood Control & Resource Conservation District, in coordination with the City of Union City. Litter pick up along the creek side trail and around the duck pond in the park. Wear work clothes and sturdy shoes (no sandals), long pants, and bring gloves and a reusable water bottle if you have them. We will provide gloves to lend, tools and a snack.
